How scary is your writing? Join the 13 Days of Halloween Writing Contest.

Join the 31 Words of Halloween Scary Story Contest

Under the cover of darkness, you tried to throw it in the river last year, but the 31 Words of Halloween Scary Story Contest has washed back ashore. Join the BCCC Library as it holds its third annual writing contest. Are you the next Edgar Allen Poe? Shirley Jackson? Bram Stoker? Mary Shelley? Stephen King? Prove it with your 31 WORDS of HALLOWEEN!

You have until Oct. 28 to come up with a 31-word HORROR story that will scare, tear, and flare fear into your audience! Stories will be presented virtually October 30, so practice your best Vincent Price/Alan Rickman voice, and see if you have what it takes to win! Virtual event information will be sent to confirmed applicants, judges, faculty, staff, and other participants.
