Southern Culture: Readings from a Distinctive Region
Dr. David Loope is leading our inaugural book discussion group. He has chosen Southern Culture as his theme, and his books will lead us to understand how and why the South is a distinctive region. Here are the books he has chosen: The Optimist’s Daughter by Eudora Welty; The Moviegoer by Walker Percy; Native Guard by Natasha Trethewey; and The Unvanquished by William Faulkner. We will meet on January 30 to get started, and every month we will read a new book. Then we’ll come together on the fourth Thursday evening for discussion. Register & pay online.
