Welcome to the Arts and Sciences division at Beaufort County Community College. This division is often referred to as the college transfer program as it prepares students to transfer to senior institutions. BCCC offers two college transfer programs, Associates in Arts and Associates in Science. These programs include two years of courses paralleling the freshman and sophomore years at most senior colleges and universities. By maintaining a 2.0 GPA and completing two years of a planned program of study, students will be able to transfer as juniors to most senior institutions without loss of credit or time. Also housed in the Arts and Sciences division is the Associate in General Education. This curriculum is designed for the academic enrichment of students who wish to broaden their education, with emphasis on personal interest, growth, and development. This degree is not intended to transfer to four-year institutions.
Additional exciting programs of study include Early Childhood Education and Human Services Technology. The Early Childhood Education curriculum prepares individuals to work with children in diverse learning environments. Students will combine learned theories with practice in actual settings with young children under the supervision of qualified teachers. This program also includes a transfer option.
Human Services Technology prepares student for entry-level positions in institutions and agencies which provide social, community, and educations services. Graduates should qualify for positions in mental health, child care, family services, social services, and educational agencies.
Depending on your goals, there is a fit for you at BCCC. Please contact a program lead instructor, the BCCC admissions office, or myself for more information about starting one of our programs today!
