29th Annual Invitational Golf Tournament For Scholarships
Golfers will have a chance to hit the green and raise money for scholarships at the Beaufort County Community College Foundation’s 29th Annual Invitational Golf Tournament for Scholarships. The tournament will take place on Friday, May 5, 2023 at Cypress Landing Golf Club.
The tournament is one of the largest annual fundraising events for the foundation. It will raise funds for scholarships to help eligible students with the cost of tuition and books, as well as emergency grants.
The tournament will be a four-person super ball format with teams pre-flighted based on each golfer’s handicap. The entry is fee $85 per player and includes lunch, cart rental and greens fee. Championship, First Flight, and Women's prizes will be awarded by 18-hole score in each of three flights. Four prize packages for “closest to the pin” shots will also be awarded.
“Over the last few years, we’ve seen our donations increase, as well as the number of donations,” Sullivan pointed out. “The community is really seeing the impact we are making on local lives and industry.”
Sometimes all that stops a student from attending is the
cost of a few textbooks. Our scholarships not only help students get in the
door, but help them get out faster and with better grades. A scholarship might
mean that a student can focus on classes instead of working multiple part-time
jobs, and it can mean that they can go from one semester to the next without
taking a semester off to work. Our scholarship recipients are driven and
excited about their education. We make sure that they maintain their momentum
toward their goals.
